If_______, then________

Last night's service at church was a special time. First of all, because we are celebrating the birth of our Saviour. But also, because we got to participate in a special prayer time. We have two members of the congregation who were just diagnosed with cancer. The one guy with colon cancer, and a lady with liver/pancreatic cancer. So at the close of service last night, our pastor announced that we were going to have prayer for both of them. So about 30 people gathered around as the pastor and deacons laid hands on them, and prayed for God to take care of them as they face surgery, chemotherapy, whatever course of treatment they have to go through. We don't know whether God will physically heal them or not, but whatever happens, we know that He will never leave them or forsake them. Even though it would be great if they were both completely healed physically, the ultimate healing awaits on the other side, as it does for all who have trusted Him as Lord and Saviour.

Yesterday afternoon, I watched a little bit of a tv church service. The pastor was quoting from Luke 2:Luk 2:13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
Luk 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."

I remember taking Physics in high school. We studied about " If-then " equations. If something happens, then something else will be the result. That got me to thinking... Maybe if we give glory to God in the highest, then we might see peace on earth. Hmmm, quite a concept, don't you think?
